BABYLON AD v PITCH BLACK

Post by falkor » Fri Oct 02, 2009 1:39 pm

Image PITCH BLACK
Runtime: 1 hr 52 mins

Genre: Science-Fiction/Fantasy
Synopsis: A spacecraft carrying an assortment of passengers including Riddick (Vin Diesel), a dangerous, shackled murderer between prisons, is forced to make a crash landing on a barren, triple-sunned planet...
Starring: Vin Diesel
ImagePitch Black is an action packed, tense, mysterious horror from the word go, right to the last second. Even then the movie let's it secrets go so reluctantly - atmosphere is premier all the way through. Surprises and shocks continually. A real story, a real movie
ImageBABYLON AD
Runtime: 1 hr 41 mins

Genre: Action/Adventure
Theatrical Release:29-08-2008
Synopsis: In sci-fi thriller BABYLON A.D., Vin Diesel's Toorop is an antihero who quotes the best of cinema's bad boys from films such as THE GODFATHER and SCARFACE. But all the tattooed muscleman really wants to do is leave poverty- and violence-ridden Russia and return to his family's home in upstate New York.
Starring: Vin Diesel
ImageBabylon AD starts well and promises much

But what do we get? is there a story? plenty of action sure but isn't it just the standard fare served up for every single action movie going nowadays?

Perhaps the whole missing SCI FI element did it for me, but in my opinion COULD DO BETTER

but what do YOU think? any opinion either way?

Personally I wouldn't watch a film with Van Diesal in it and sci-fi doesn't appeal much either.

well let's just say hypothetically that Boy George tied you up and handcuffed you to a settee for 2 hours with BabylonAD followed by pitch Black blaring out of a huge TV in front of you

which of the 2 do you think you would hate the least ? :vwide:

Funny you should ask this as I only just watched Babylon A.D. the other day.

I usually like a Vin Diesel film.

Pitch Black was great, Chronicles of Riddick not so great and Babylon A.D. was what Chronicles of Riddick should have been.

Theres a new XXX film getting made and a new Riddick one too.

I don't really watch alot of films - I did watch Escape from Sobobor last night though and I really enjoyed the Golden compass with the kids.
