How to Capture a UFO Image on Camera

Post by falkor » Thu May 20, 2010 10:29 am

  1. Check whether the angular size of the object is sufficient for you to spot distinct geometric detail.
  2. Be very certain about your observation.
  3. Remember four keywords: date, time, range, and azimuth
  4. A good UFO sighting/recording is one that contains accurate date and time
  5. Learn about different aircraft and their sizes
  6. Invest in the right equipment
  7. Learn how to judge size
  8. Familiarize yourself with angular measurements and estimating the same
  9. Use a camera with manual focus
is this REALLY worth knowing? or just a bullshit article? who's gonna remember all this when a UFO starts landing in their back garden half way through breakfast ?

hiya Pat, yes a good read :gog:

and out of all of them I found the last one the most interesting :b-)
It should be noted here that for shooting UFOs, make it a hard and fast rule to use a camera or camcorder that has manual focus (MF), as there is nothing more infuriating than seeing footage of a very blurry gob of something in the sky that keeps drifting in and out of focus (if ever in focus at all) while the "i.r." or sonic range finder on the cam keeps "hunting" back and forth. Many professional videographers keep their equipment on "infinity" focus and leave it there unless compelled to do otherwise. Infinity focus is usually found when you turn your camera to manual focus (see the image). Whatever else you do, remember that manual focus is still the best way to go.
any other members give this article any plus points? ;)

I found it to be of no use to me I'm afraid :sahnt:

I would never retain all that info if I was faced with a real UFO, I would be struggling to get my shit together in order to take a picture in the first place.
