A mystery creature

Post by mj12cz » Thu Sep 17, 2009 11:47 am

The beast's hairless, rubbery body and revolting features have drawn comparisons with the Montauk Monster, the still-unidentified animal photographed on a New York beach last year.

According to reports in Panama, the teenagers spotted the creature crawling out of a cave while playing in the town of Cerro Azul north of Panama City.

Breakingviews.com: A summary of views for October 28Fearing for the safety as it moved towards them, the youths claim they attacked the beast with sticks before throwing its lifeless body into a pool of water.

They returned later to take pictures of the corpse which were then posted on the website of the Central American country's Telemetro television station.

The images have since bounced around various cryptozoology blogs, with several explanations suggested for what it might have been.

Apparently it's a bald sloth lol... no idea how it came to be bald....

I don't think it looks fake but I reckon the story behind it is a bit flim flam.

Lets not forget the poverty in south america and the money that can be made from alien and ufo vids. Take the footage of the alien behind a lamp post.. they came out and admitted faking it for money and they resent Maussan for having made so much from other's footage when they are mostly poverty stricken. This stuff comes up because they want money. It could be a sloth... the size could be greatly exaggerated.. who would know from a photo? Also the rest of the story could be completely fabricated.

Lol!!! Maybe it was sid the sloth having had an accident with a spray tin of Immac? lol!! :blotto:

The flat face and the clawed 'hands' are definite characteristics of a sloth... The Montauk creature was most definitely a fake... apart from that who the hell knows??? Not I... :)

By Paulo R. Poian - Inexplicata - The Journal of Hispanic Ufology - The animal was already dead and decomposing, and the story was concocted by teenagers. The case was debunked last week by members of Brazil's Equipo UFO. The story became widespread last Thursday, with a subject initially identified with Panama's location of Cerro Azul, involving the alleged death of a creature stoned to death by four adolescents near a lake. The unidentified creature was described as an alien, as if this classification offered an explanation. According to Panamanian papers, the youngsters were frightened by its appearance and fearful of being attacked, stoned it to death and then left it in a lake. The worst aspect of the story is that a so-called wildlife expert said that the case was under investigation and that the creature had very odd characteristics. Events of this type, which fall like parachutes (sic) into the hands of ufologists, have given rise to a new specific area of study in ufology, which will be very useful, employed and treasured: exozoology, that is to say, the study of supposedly alien animals. In this Cerro Azul incident, all that was needed was a comparison of images between the alleged ET and the fauna in the region in question. Observe the creature's mammaries, muzzle, and the arrangement and disposition of the legs. Yes , dear readers. It is a Preguiza (sloth), more commonly known as bicho preguiza, with a habitat that ranges from Central America to Brazil in six different species. It is a mammal and a member of the families Bradypodidae (three-fingered) and Megalonychidae (two-fingered). The absence of fur and the clearly distended abdomen show that the creature was in an advanced stage of putrefaction, which completely blows away not only the story -- concocted by the teenagers and swallowed whole by the media -- but any extraterrestrial hypothesis.
