" Hello,

I'm not sure who to notify, but I guess this is as good a place as any.
I'm a storm chaser, and tonight (073109) while photographing lightning from storms over north Austin, Texas, I happened to get photos of swarms of flying rods.

The storms weren't worth getting "b roll" footage, unfortunately, so I didn't get any video tape of these things.

I'll set up tomorrow to see if I can get video. They are definitely flying... the flapping motion on either side of the rods is "paired" and the movement is undulatory.

Rods appear to be attracted to powerful storms-as illustrated.I have alos noticed them around hydro lines.Could these outlets of energy ,open time portals ?

These are NOT likely insects as they do not look like the usual 'Rod Photos' of which most are insects! This could be caused by some sort of electromagnetic atmospherics.
I don't think these are UFOs but there is just not enough close up detail to be sure. Its always a possibility!

I made a thread back in June about them.

Good photos by the way.
