My first sighting

Post by Deranged Granny » Sun Dec 13, 2009 5:08 pm

Yesterday I think I saw my first 'UFO' sighting. I was in Leamington Spa at night and looked up and saw what seemed to be a gold, glowing, sparkling ball of light. It was moving steadily across the sky without a sound, and seemed to be like a ball of fire, sparkling and shimmering. It disappeared from sight just before it disappeared behind a building.

I doubt it was anything interesting - probably just a Chinese lantern? But it was interesting nonetheless :D

No, two people were with me and they saw it too. It's hard to say what its speed and size was, as there was nothing to judge it against. I wouldn't say it was that big, maybe a few foot in length/height? But it could have been miles away :? It was moving very smoothly across the sky relatively quickly, although I watched it cross ~1/2 of the sky and I was there for about a minute.... so roughly the same speed as a plane (although, again, it was difficult to judge how far away it was). It was shimmering and sparkling, and literally looked like a ball of fire....

Did you see UFO over the town Date: 08 October 2009
I CAN'T believe I'm actually writing this after never thinking I would even consider believing in UFOs.

My brother, my dad and I were at home and saw 10 to 15 bright orange lights flying over in perfect formation.

They were completely silent and moving faster than a plane would. I was just wondering if anyone else saw these.

They flew over towards Daventry Country Park from the Headlands direction at about 9.30pm on Friday.

well it's dated October so I'm a little confused by that :o

even if you dont know what it was exactly, its always worth logging what you see, so that if we find out something new then we have your sighting to refer to

It might have just been a wee bit of Space junk, old pieces of Nasa or Russian equipment burning up in the atmosphere ?
Or maybe a tiny bit of rock, we get comets and asteroids of all sizes hitting here, even ones invisible to the naked eye.

I think that will account for a few sightings, its like a scrap yard up there.

this cannot be attributed to "space junk" surely

you are saying space junk can be seen from the earth surface with the naked eye? the only way I can see that is if the object is on a downward trajectory "going down"

DG was it angled down to the earth's surface ?
