Nope no more news of what it was, I would class it as a real UFO too.

Welcome aboard Gayton, how about a wee hello in the Introductions section ?

Thanks for the story as well, I liked the picture in the article MJ posted, looks like maybe a solar flare or metorite.

It was a bright yellow/orange firey colour, with what looked like a tail at the back from hitting the atmosphere. It didn't move very fast as I had time to stand up and watch it disappear from right to left out of sight. It had a steady trajectory low across the sky. This occurred 11th May 2009 at about 10.00pm. I thought it might have been a meteorite falling from the sky.
hitting the atmosphere of any planet is a hazard

gayton has it been reported in your local papers? have you seen anything like this before

welcome to the site!! :wide:

Anything to do with birds gets my attention ;)
I thought you were the opposite :?

BTW! Good spot, Gayton! :D

I've only every seen one shooting star :( It was apparently a really heavy meteor shower, but it was really cloudy, so after standing outside for half an hour and getting a crick in my neck, I only saw one! Was good though! :)
