hi,
Been digging about .It seems on October 17th at various times all over the UK a similar thing was seen .I havnt come across anyone at Teesside who saw it yet though.
To be honest it frightened me .

Havnt come across anyone else in teesside that saw anything that night.However on 17th October there are reports of a similar sighting in Ilkley & sheffield at later times described like what i saw .
People report to other sights if you google 17th October you may come across them.
I think a lot of people maybe dont report things in fear of people taking the "Micheal" .
However I know what i saw .Judging by other sightings in England that night some saw the very same thing.

Funnily enough ive googled and there seems to be a lot around Teesside ! Even one on this site around may 11th.
If you google Teesside and other words lke ufo, glowing , burning orange - loads pop up also billingham and middlesbrough which are not too far from me .
Wonder why ? and what it is.

I dont think it was a lantern .Hence why i posted .It was pretty big ! When ive googled there seems to be a lot of these sightings over Teesside.
Apart from the fact it was moving too fast and there was no wind .
I see the planes plus the police helicopter all the time it was moving same speed if not faster than a plane.It did not burn out , just dissappeared into the clouds in a northern direction.
To be fair you are right there has been a massive increase in sighting in the last 18 months to 2 years, could be Teesside is a hot spot.

I don't mean to belittle what you seen, but it is not just lanterns. They have a light show and fireworks..
